A picture perfect weekend arrives, with sunshine and seasonable temperatures
High pressure this weekend will keep the sun shining.
Temperatures remain on the cool side this evening, as we reach down into the 50s and beyond. Tonight will be very similar to the past few nights. Low temperatures will be bottoming out in the upper 30s and low 40s under clear skies. Winds will be light, coming out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.
High pressure will remain dominant as we head into the weekend and start of next week. This ridge of high pressure will keep the rain at bay at least until the weekend. A fontal system looks likely as we head into Halloween, which may bring us some rain next weekend.
Saturday is going to be spectacular, with sunny skies and maybe a few clouds rolling through. High temperatures will be topping off in the low 60s, leaving us seasonable, but a bit cooler than we’ve been the past few days. Winds will be a bit breezy again, coming out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. Sunday is looking just as nice, with sunny skies and high temperatures in the low 60s.
A full moon will peak on Sunday night, with this moon being the Hunter’s Moon.
Fall foliage is rapidly approaching peak color, so this weekend will be perfect for viewing the vibrant colors of the Two Virginias.
Next week we will see a few clouds rolling through, but we should stay rain free until the front rolls in for the weekend. Temperatures will remain generally in the 60s, though a few days where we hit the low 70s will be possible. Overnight lows will be a bit warmer thanks to the cloud cover, dropping into the 40s.
