WASHINGTON — A new congressional analysis shows Virginians have paid $254 million more at the pump because of America’s war on Iran.

The increase follows a nationwide rise in gasoline costs, which totals $8.4 billion.

The national average price of gasoline has risen to $4 a gallon. Fill-up costs top out at $145 for top-selling pickup trucks, $58 for top-selling SUVs and $52 for top-selling sedans.

“We’ve said it countless times: there was no imminent threat to the U.S. when President Trump entered this war with Iran. Trump went in with no clear plan, goals, or objectives, and now working families are stuck footing the bill,” said U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-VA).
