Probation search leads to arrest

SUMMERS COUNTY, W.Va. (WVVA) - A Summers County man is behind bars after a probation-related search.

Tommy L. Martin, 56, was the subject of a probation search on Oct. 23 and the Summers County Sheriff’s Office and county Probation Office found three firearms at his residence.

Martin was on probation for failure to register as a sex offender and was prohibited from possessing firearms because of a prior sexual assault conviction.

Following discovery of the firearms, Martin was taken into custody by deputies with the Summers County Sheriff’s Office without incident.

Martin is currently being held with no bond at Southern Regional Jail on a probation violation, with additional criminal charges pending.
