Lily Lowndes

Lily Lowndes is a curious individual who believes in reporting with compassion. She joined 13 Action News as a multimedia journalist in September 2023 and now serves as the morning live reporter and 8 a.m. anchor.
A Midwesterner through and through, Lily grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago. Before coming to Toledo, Lily interned at ABC7 Chicago in the digital news department.
Lily enjoys traveling around Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan to cover stories that inspire and uplift local communities. Some of her favorite features include the first profile of viral sensation Pudge the Cat, the group spreading positivity by riding horses through Toledo streets, and the local farm that creates compost from food waste across our area.
From exposing bad contractors, to digging into blight and housing issues, she's also focused on stories that create change and dive deeper into long-standing problems. She was involved in extensive coverage of an improperly zoned mine that was operating in a residential neighborhood, the Justice for Dee movement for a missing mother, and a citizen-led recall effort of nearly all leaders in the City of Maumee.
