Taylor is a native of Chesterfield, Virginia and decided that she wanted to work in the news industry at age 8, during a trip to New York City to see Good Morning America.

She attended West Virginia University and majored in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Sport Communication.

During her time in Morgantown, Taylor was a sports reporter for The Daily Athenaeum, WVU’s student newspaper, and worked as a stringer for The Associated Press, assisting in covering football and men’s basketball.

Taylor was a reporter for WVU's Emmy-award-winning newscast, WVU News. She recently won a Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award for Television Breaking News Reporting.

Taylor was also a host of WVU’s new public affairs talk show, Morgantown Today, which covered topics such as food insecurity in Monongalia County and the 2020 Election.

Taylor has two cats, Peaches and Teddy, and spends her free time hanging out with her friends and family or watching sports.
