Mark grew up in the Summers County town of Hinton.
He joined the staff here at WVVA in December 1989 and through all these years has covered some of the biggest stories affecting our area from coal strikes to teacher strikes.
He also was on the team that covered the tragic shootings at Virginia Tech as well as the disaster at the Upper Big Branch Mine, and many others.
Mark has also been fortunate to win several awards for Photojournalism as well as being honored with Bluefield University's Shot Excellence in Media Award.
To Mark, his biggest accomplishment is the diverse group of young journalists he was able to assist beginning their careers, many of who have moved into major markets.
Mark hopes to finish his career here at WVVA covering the news, being a part of the team to keep the good people of his home area here in Southern West Virginia informed.
