Julia Westerman joined the WDTV sports team as an anchor and reporter in June 2021. She graduated summa cum laude from The University of Alabama in April 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
While at Alabama, Julia interned for three years at WVUA 23 News, Tuscaloosa's commercial television station in the Birmingham market. In her last year, she worked as the Weekend Sports Anchor and covered the Alabama Crimson Tide and high school sports in West Alabama.
Julia was born and raised in California, but her roots are now in upstate South Carolina with her parents. Working in sports journalism has been her dream since an eighth-grade project and she can't wait to see all West Virginia has to offer.
