In Focus: Putting a spotlight on Captain Dennis Smith and his wife Jane.

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - This Sunday on In Focus, we put spotlight on Captain Dennis Smith and his wife Jane.

They have served with the Salvation Army in Mercer County for nearly five years.

Our Melinda Zosh recalls interviewing them back in 2017 when they first arrived here in Southern W.Va., and back in April, our Joshua Bolden featured Dennis as a “Hometown Hero.”

This month, they are moving to serve people in need through the Salvation Army in Morgantown. They’re leaving Mercer County on June 20.

Captain Dennis Smith said, “It’s bittersweet. It’s a new adventure and we are leaving a place we call home, it breaks our heart to have to pack up and go.
