Five miners injured in McDowell County

BERWIND, W.Va. (WVVA) - WVVA has confirmed that there’s been a mine accident in the Berwind area of McDowell County. It happened Thursday at 12:29 a.m.
According to authorities, five miners were injured in this incident at the Berwind Deep Mine, run by Ramaco Resources, LLC.
According to the mine dispatcher Darrell Keen the miners were in the mine trip and were on a very steep slope. Then, the trip became loose, and the miners were injured.
One miner did sustain an injury to the head, but all injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.
