ATHENS, W.Va. (WVVA) - Concord University will be celebrating a big milestone next month, 150 years of higher education.

The school is having the President’s Ball and Founder’s Day ceremony on February 26. President Kendra Boggess will also have a presentation of her presidential excellence awards as well as a live band.

“It’s nice to be able to recognize and celebrate when you really think about what all Concord has done for the region and being able to be around for that long. And how many people have gone through these doors, how many degrees we’ve been able to award, how many lives have been changed. We can’t let this go by even with COVID. We’ve had to modify things a little bit. We couldn’t not celebrate such a big milestone.” said Vice President of Advancement, Sarah Turner.

Some guidelines for the events in place include masking up inside of buildings as well as having arranged seating to properly social distance.
