ATHENS, W.Va. (WVVA) - Groundhog Day is always a big celebration at Concord University. This year the CEO of Princeton Rescue Squad, Stacey Hicks has been named this year’s Grand Groundhog Watcher during their annual breakfast. The title is given to someone who positively impacts life and culture in West Virginia.

“I appreciate Concord giving me the honor and I’m very pleased to be a part of it. Both my sons graduated from Concord, my mom retired from there, so it’s a big honor for me to be chosen.” said Hicks.

The breakfast is making a comeback after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic. Hicks will share the spotlight with Concord Charlie on February 2.
