BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - With the winter season still in the full swing of things those in charge of clearing the major roadways must always be aware of the weather. According to those with the West Virginia Division of Highways this time of the year means they mount plows onto trucks and leave them mounted. They also say supplies have remained stocked and are ready for another round of winter weather.

“One inch of snow and six inches of snow bring the same challenges to us. They are both impediments and cause reduced safety for drivers. So we address both with the same amount of resources and determination to get the roads clear as quickly as possible.” said Deputy State Highway Engineer, Joe Pack.

Pack added that it’s important to give plows adequate room to work in order for them to fully clear roadways.
