WASHINGTON D.C. (WVVA) - On Thursday, Sen. Mark Warner addressed the rising cost of goods in the commonwealth. Warner says due to supply chain issues, America is paying a hefty price to import products.

Shipping containers from China now cost up to 4 times more than before the pandemic.

Warner says he’s penned a letter to some big-name retailers to see if there’s anything the federal government can do to hemorrhage the cost.

Warner says a bill held up in the house would contribute more than $50-billion to new technologies that could help ease the burden of supply chain issues.
