City of Bluefield, WV says clearing streets is no easy task
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - The city of Bluefield, West Virginia remains working hard to clear snow off remaining roads in the city.
According to officials in the city it’s no easy task to clear all the roadways with some being easier than others. This is due to the amount of hills in the city as well the amount of cars parked along streets. However, there are some things residents can do to help insure their road gets cleared.
“This weekend folks stayed in which was great. So they didn’t get out but we have a path through the road but when cars are still sitting there three days later the snow is built up around it and I know it gets harder to dig it out. So as soon as they are able, it’s helpful if they can get out and move the car finally. " said City Manager, Cecil Marson.
Clearing roadways of cars if possible is important due to plows needing adequate room to get by without damaging other vehicles.
