Beckley business celebrates one year anniversary
BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) - A business with a unique approach to treating sleep apnea is celebrating their first year at their Beckley location.
Sound Sleep Treatments of the Virginia’s is located on eagles road behind Woodrow Wilson High School. Unlike the traditional C-PAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machines used for sleep apnea, Dr. Kurt Reiber has created an overnight dental device that accomplishes the same goals as a C-PAP machine.
In a statement made by Dr. Reiber, he says, ”By treating sleep apnea, you can add anywhere from 10 to 15 years to your life. You always hear about people with cardiovascular issues passing in their sleep. Sleep apnea weakens the heart and lowers their lifespan.”
Dr. Reiber is a board-certified dentist who works with local doctors to ensure the dental device is covered by insurance. Dr. Reiber is also a member of the international academy of sleep.
