Concord sweeps doubleheader with West Virginia Wesleyan

Mountain Lions each use second-half runs to pull away

ATHENS, W.Va. (WVVA) - Both Concord University basketball teams beat West Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday night.

The women led for most of the game. It was tight until late in the second half when the Mountain Lions pulled away. Maggie Guynn led all scorers with 19 points. Concord won 65-53. It’s Concord’s fourth win in a row.

The men started the game on a 10-0 run. The Bobcats made a run to take the lead but the Mountain Lions bounced right back. Concord won 76-59. Daniel Rahama posted a double double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
