Woodrow Wilson Drops Season Opener to Parkersburg South
Patriots out-shoot Flying Eagles
BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) - Parkersburg South’s consistency from the field was the difference.
The two teams battled to a tight two-point difference after eight minutes. Abby Dillon hit a three-pointer with just a few seconds remaining in the quarter to pull the Flying Eagles within two points.
The Patriots started to shoot well in the second. Grace Sandy connected on two shots from beyond the arc in a three possession span.
South outscored Woodrow 14-9 in the second quarter to lead 24-17 at halftime.
The Patriots would go on to win 50-44 and spoil the Flying Eagles’ opener.
