A K-9 Companion is the newest hire at The Wade Center

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) -Meet Gabi, the newest addition to The Wade Center family, and while she may not wear dress clothes to the office. She’ll sport a red vest when she’s ready to get to work.

This 2 and a half year old puppy is still on her way to becoming a Therapy Dog. But a day involving treats, a good book, and lots of pets is what Gabi classifies as on the job training.

The idea behind the K-9 companion is to help those kids who may need a little more comfort in their day. When kids leave this pooch’s office, the smiles on their faces tell us that Gabi has completed a job well done.

Mickey Pellillo said, that in a little over a month Gabi will finish her training, and become a fully licensed Therapy Dog.
