Independence finishes the season Class AA State Runner-Up

WHEELING, W.Va. (WVVA) - The Independence Patriots closed out the 2021 season on Friday, playing Fairmont Senior in the Class AA State Championship.

The Patriots put on a strong defensive effort in the championship game, but the Polar Bears ultimately came out on top, 21-12.

Despite a loss in the championship game, the Patriots made history this season, becoming the first team in the program’s existence to make it to the Super Six. And the team did it in style, going undefeated the entire regular season.
