Cranberry Baptist Church hosts 25th annual ‘Living Christmas Story’
BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) - If you’re looking for a live nativity scene, Cranberry Baptist Church in Beckley is hosting their “Living Christmas Story” this weekend.
This outdoor nativity presentation gives visitors an overview of the live of Christ, from birth to resurrection.
“It takes a lot of time and work in advance to construct the scenes and to prepare the costumes for the characters. In addition to the characters, there are several attendants and many others, totaling over 100 people, who make this happen for these two special nights,” said Pastor Roger Pauley. “This has become a Christmas tradition for 25 years here at Cranberry and, I believe, for our community. Our people, young and old, enjoy presenting this unique Christmas program. It’s a wonderful time not only for the participants, but the visitors who drive through each year. Our desire is to lift up the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is vital that we present the Biblical account of the birth of Christ during the Christmas season.”
The presentation lasts ten minutes, and church staff said that a narration will take place for each of the eight scenes.
You and your family can enjoy this live nativity on December 4 and 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Cranberry Baptist Church is located at 201 Cranberry Drive in Beckley.
