BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - The trend of prices rising in America has now extended to one of humanity’s most vital resources.

West Virginia American Water company is proposing price hikes of up to 26% for 19 counties and 31% for one Fayette County community. Many worry people on a fixed income can’t afford to pay more.

Company reps say they hope West Virginia’s public service commission will reach a compromise benefiting everyone. The PSC is working on it.
