FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. (WVVA) - Crews from multiple states were in West Virginia on Tuesday to try and put out a brush fire in the New River Gorge.

According to a spokesperson for the National Park Service (NPS), Eve West, the fire is centered toward the Southern end of the endless wall trail between the Super Mario and Cirque climbing areas.

The fire is currently spanning 80 acres.

Right now, West said there is no word yet on what started the fire.

The NPS is urging travelers on foot to steer clear of Nutallburg Road and the Kenneys Creek Rail trail.
