Wife of late Welch Business Specialist accepts nomination from Small Communities, Big Solutions
WELCH, W.Va. (WVVA) - The City of Welch is continuing to honor the late Business Development Specialist Jason Grubb. Grubb passed away last month due to complications stemming from COVID. He was nominated by his wife in September for an award relating to making a positive impact on a small community in southern West Virginia.
Small Communities, Big Solutions awarded the nomination to Grubb’s wife this morning during a ceremony. Stacy Grubb accepted the nomination for her beloved husband and says Jason loved the city of Welch and had big dreams for the city and the people who lived there.
“I think what he was trying to do for the community was unify a lot of people and really boost morale among the residents which I think was his biggest challenge. He was trying to make people believe that Welch is a place that can be revitalized and things come back to life here.” said Stacy Grubb.
Stacy said she and the community were proud of the work Jason had done before he passed and hopes the city is able to build off of it.
