We are looking at another cool, crisp night here in the Two Virginias. Clouds will gradually diminish tonight after sunset as well as any isolated showers. Skies stay clear to partly cloudy overnight with valley and river valley fog developing by morning, which should burn off quickly. Very cool for July overnight with lows ranging from upper 40s to mid 50s. Temperatures warm a bit more Wednesday with sunshine and some afternoon clouds. Highs will range again in the 70s with a light NW breeze.

Our weather continues to be controlled by a deep trough in the East and Mid Atlantic. We stay cool at night and mild during the day through about Thursday. The trough will begin moving back to the west, allowing for warmer temperatures to return as well as more moisture. With a more summer feel in place Friday to Monday, the upper low to the north will continue to send a few disturbances our way, bringing a chance for spotty showers and thunderstorms. At the surface, low pressure will ride along a stalled front along the coast, which will also help our wet weather chances-mainly Friday evening and Saturday. High pressure builds back in Sunday and Monday, lowering our chance for spotty late day showers and storms.
