Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue this evening with heavy rain possible. Wet weather tapers off tonight and skies will gradually clear, allowing for patchy, dense fog to form. Drier air will be moving in tonight as well and temperatures will drop into the 50s by morning. Friday is looking nice with sunshine and low humidity. Temperatures will return to the upper 70s and low 80s with only a light breeze with the help of high pressure.

High pressure moves to the coast Saturday, allowing for a bigger warm up. High temperatures will make their way into the mid 80s in the afternoon. In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a large trough will build into the Great Lakes region Sunday and last into the mid part of next week. This upper level energy in addition to a passing warm front Sunday morning and approaching cold front, will provide a good chance for showers and thunderstorms through out Sunday. The front will pass through the area early Monday, keeping a chance for wet weather around. This upper level trough will be bringing a shot of cooler and drier air to the Two Virginias as well, starting Monday and lasting through much of the week. Highs return to the lower 70s and overnight temps may dip into the upper 40s for some deeper valleys.
