High pressure remains in control for the next several days, allowing for mainly dry weather in the 2 Virginias. Skies clear overnight with more clouds around and east of I77. Valley fog is possible overnight as well. Thursday looks mainly dry and sunny with puffy afternoon clouds. A pop up shower or t-storm is possible in the mountains, again mainly east of I77, but if anything does develop, it should be short lived. Temperatures will get close to 80 for most.
Sunny and warm weather continues for the first day of summer and to start the weekend. Daytime highs will reach the low to mid 80s and afternoon clouds are likely, with very little chance for any rain. High pressure will sit across the southeast US Sunday to Tuesday, keeping us mainly dry and hot with highs in the mid, even upper 80s. However, low pressure and a front to our north plus increasing moisture out of the south may bring a few spotty showers or storms late in the day. By Wednesday, it looks like this front moves southward, bringing a better chance for rain Wednesday evening and Thursday.
