Unseasonably cold temperatures are being felt here in the 2 Virginias. Saturday morning lows will range from the upper 20s mainly north of I64 to upper 30s across southern ridge tops. Everyone has the chance for some early patchy frost. Cool high pressure remains in control Saturday, bringing us a mainly sunny day with highs in the lower to mid 60s. High clouds work their way back into the area Saturday afternoon and evening, which should help to keep nighttime temperatures a bit warmer into Sunday morning.
A nearby warm front will keep some clouds around Sunday, but it looks to be a nice day with temps back into the upper 60s. As this front swings through the area, scattered showers and a thunderstorm are possible Memorial Day through Tuesday. Once this front clears the area Tuesday afternoon, we will begin a warm up for the remainder of the week. From Wednesday to Friday highs will get into the 80s with lots of sunshine. Our air mass overall turns warmer and more humid with a south-southwesterly flow, which may allow for pop up shower or tstorm activity each late afternoon. For now, it looks like we will see dry weather persist into the weekend.
