Warm and humid conditions will continue through this evening and we remain unsettled with a chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm. Most of our rain chances will diminish after sunset, but a few may linger until midnight or so-very hit or miss. Our wind direction remains out of the southeast overnight, which may get gusty at times downwind of the mountains. Temperatures overnight will stay in the 60s with lingering clouds and fog. Tuesday is looking similar to today with increasing clouds and a chance for pop up showers and thunderstorms-mainly later in the day. High temps will range in the 80s depending on cloud-cover.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere, strong high pressure remains off the Atlantic coast and back across the Southwestern US. Here in the middle, we remain under a trough-which will keep our weather unsettled. Ahead of an approaching cold front, we stay warm and humid through Wednesday with spotty showers and storms possible. Scattered wet weather becomes more likely Wednesday evening as the front moves into the area and through out Thursday as it moves through. Severe weather is looking unlikely, however heavy rain is expected. Numerous thunderstorms with intense rainfall could lead to localized flooding. Temps cool Friday and Saturday behind the front and we should see some sun, however storm chances are back by Sunday.
