Expect a quieter morning this morning, with showers becoming more spotty and isolated after lunchtime. Skies will vary between partly and mostly cloudy, and temperatures will be much cooler, in the low 70s. As the cold front makes its way through the state today, shower chances will increase heading into the late afternoon and into tonight. Most activity should be in the form of rain showers, but a few rumbles of thunder here and there are not out of the question today. Overnight tonight and into tomorrow, skies will gradually clear, and tomorrow will be partly cloudy, drier, and unseasonably cool, with highs in the low 70s here in Bluefield. As high pressure takes control of our area, expect most of the remainder of the work week to be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, and extremely cool for July, with temperatures through next Monday remaining in the low to mid 70s. Low  temperatures will also remain cool, in the low to mid 50s. A chance of showers and storms will return this weekend during the afternoon and evening hours of Saturday and Sunday, as more moisture builds back into our environment when the high pressure starts to shift eastward.
