A quiet night ahead here in the Two Virginias with clear to partly cloudy skies and valley fog. Temperatures cool off quickly once the sun sets and lows will range in the upper 50s to low 60s. High pressure will give us another dry day Saturday, but as it shifts east toward the coast, temperatures will get hotter. Highs Saturday afternoon rise into the mid 80s for most with some upper 80s possible. Dew points will also be on the rise, giving the afternoon a very toasty feel.

Thunderstorms are likely to develop Saturday evening across the Ohio valley and move in our direction by early Sunday morning. Because of the timing of these storms, they will likely weaken some, but a few stronger storms may move through. Sunshine may break out early Sunday afternoon, warming temps back to the mid 80s. Another round of thunderstorms is possible later Sunday afternoon and night. Our area is under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms, with the main threat being damaging winds and large hail. An isolated tornado is possible, but the best chances for that will be outside the mountains. A cold front passes through Monday morning and surface high pressure builds in behind it, drying us out. An upper level trough to our north will allow for a shot of cooler, drier air that looks to last much of the week. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s will be possible through at least midweek.
