Greg Carter

Greg Carter anchors WVVA News at 5, 6 and 11 and serves as Content Manager. The Tazewell, Virginia native has been with WVVA since 1997.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Theatre Arts from Virginia Tech.  During high school, he spent three years in Virginia Tech's Upward Bound Program (TRIO) and was awarded the Virginia TRIO Achiever Award for 2006-2007.  He is the 2010 recipient of the Shott Excellence in Media Award issued by Bluefield College. 

Greg can often be found in local schools reading to students or talking about the broadcast television business.  Whether it's distributing food and free school supplies, handing out free winter coats, attending career fairs or calling bingo for senior citizens, Greg has a love for service and always looks for ways to give back to the community. 

Greg is married to his lovely wife Michelle.  They share their home with daughters Dejah, Anna and Olivia and two dogs, Molly and Sophie.
