Field Fest held in town of Bluefield

On Thursday, it was all about live music, food, drinks and socializing in downtown Bluefield, Virginia. It's all part of the annual Field Fest, held in Jack Asbury Square.

Organizers say the event has been a community tradition for the past three years now, and it's a way to promote micro-business in our region.

On Thursday, live music was performed by Victor Lawson and Boogie Chillin,' and there was also a wine and beer selection, including Plum Creek Winery, based in Tazewell.

"We've been coming up here since they started.  we come once a month. we set up and we enjoy the crowd from Bluefield. they're really receptive. they love us," Brian Allison, owner of Plum Creek Winery.

"It's important for downtown Bluefield, VA to get in here and see some of the changes going on. there's been a lot of updates. a lot of construction, try to revitalize it a little bit. the welcome center for Tazewell county is down here now, and for people to see the good things that are happening in Bluefield, Virginia," said Greg DeGray, a volunteer.

The next and final Field Fest of the summer will be held on Thursday Aug. 9 from 6-9 p.m., and it's free to get in.
