New flights exceeding officials expectations

New flights offered by the Greenbrier Valley Airport are exceeding passenger volume expectations of airport officials.

The Director of the Airport says the new flights to D.C. and Chicago added in the second week of April are seeing a steady increase in passenger volume per month and those numbers continue to rise.

"We expected people in our region to utilize the service, what we didn't expect was Virginia Tech, Virginia, Roanoke. We did not expect some of those markets to be coming to us because of the Chicago flight non-stop and the price point," said Stephen Snyder.

Snyder says that the success has SkyWest hiring several more part-time employees. Just go to the online to the career section of to apply. He says one of the perks is free travel.
