Norfolk Southern donates to Princeton Rescue Squad

The Princeton Rescue Squad got a boost today in the effort to complete the new multi-purpose building that is now under construction behind the squad headquarters.

Mike Bailey with Norfolk Southern presented a check for five thousand dollars to Randy Brown with the Princeton Rescue Squad this afternoon. This donation moved the total amount collected up to $1.5 million- halfway to their goal for the Education and Shelter Building that the squad is constructing to expand their capacity.

Bailey said the railroad tries to help a variety of first responders because they are an invaluable asset in our area.

"We depend so much on our local first responders responding to derailments and things of that nature. fire departments, rescue squads are very, very important to our operations and the communities that we operate through," adds Bailey.

Construction is underway and they are hoping to have all the exterior work done by Winter with a completion date set for about year from now. If you would like to contribute you can go by the squad, call, or visit their website.
