FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WVVA) -

A top EPA official has agreed to come to Minden next week to listen to residents who say the community is a 'cancer cluster.'

Minden residents like Darrell Thomas believe PCB ( polychlorinated biphenyl) contamination is to blame.

Representatives with U.S. Senator Joe Manchin's office held a public meeting on Thursday in Minden. In 1984, the EPA listed the community on its Superfund site for PCB contamination from a local industry.

EPA's Mid Atlantic Regional Administrator. Cosmo Servidio has agreed to come to Minden on Thursday, June 7. The gathering will take place at the New Beginning Apostolic Church in Minden. It's scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Thomas told WVVA that he and his neighbors welcome any help that the Sen. Manchin and the EPA. can give.
