Princeton High School athletes sign letters of intent


This afternoon at Princeton High School it was a big day of signings for Tiger nation.Tigers track and field runner Kalaya Tate who will be continuing her career at West Virginia Wesleyan in both track and field where she hopes to pursue a degree in early education and says happy to keep her running going. 

"I'm very excited to sign to this school. When we first went up there to tour the campus, i just loved it. It was great. The atmosphere of the school, like it was nice. Everybody around the campus was nice. Coaches, staff, everything, it was just great," Tate said.

Following that some members of the Tigers baseball team also signed letters of intent.Five of them to be exact. Peyton Hudgins and Robert Burnette will be heading to concord,while another D.J. Berholtz to New River, Ethan Webb joins WVU tech and Tanner Lockhart to Bluefield State and they all say they're happy to still be playing the game they love. 

"The school is really good and I need a good degree,so baseball and school, that'll be fun," Hudgins said.

"To be able to continue my it, I've been playing since I was little and I'm just ready to keep it going. I didn't want to end my high school career not knowing if I was going to be able to play or not," Burnette said.

"It's something I knew I had to get out and work hard and something that I had to work towards doing. I'd like to thank my dad for all of the support," Webb said.

"It has a nice campus and the coaches seem nice to play baseball. I'm going to try to go as far as I can," Berholtz said.

"I just really like the school. They have a great campus and I hope to major in criminal justice there, so I'm really looking forward to playing baseball there. Never would of thought it, but they made it happen for me, I really appreciate it," Lockhart said.
