RICHLANDS, VA (WVVA) -

Earlier today at Richlands High School,Blue Tornado girls basketball player Ericah Burton announced her signing with Tusculum College.Burton is a member of the 1,000 point club at Richlands and also holds the schools all time boys and girls three point record and says she's anxious about continuing her career at the next level.

"I chose Tusculum because they were interested in me and I had my colleges picked down to three and I went visited all of them and Tusculum was my last one and I fell in love with the campus, the facilities. I loved the teammates and I just felt at home," Burton said.

Another member of the Blue Tornado girls basketball team made her college commitment official on Tuesday. Hayleigh Whited will be staying relatively close to home to play at Bluefield state. A 2nd team all-district performer this season along with averaging over double figures, shes say this was a decision that was a very easy one to make.

"It was when I went on my visit, as soon as I drove onto the campus, I knew that's where I wanted to go. Bluefield State just made me feel at home. The coaching staff, the players, when you walk in, you're just family. They treat you like one of theirs," Whited said.
