Pastor pleads guilty to embezzlement

A local pastor accused of stealing almost $10,000  from his church was in court today to sign a plea agreement.

Christopher Stansell appeared in front of Judge Mark Wills, pleading guilty to embezzlement and destruction of property.

Stansell is accused of stealing money from First Christian Church in Princeton. His attorney, Robbie Dumapit, requested Stansell be put on probation and for a deferred adjudication. It's being placed under consideration until the sentencing on August 14th.

Judge Wills was also scheduled for an arraignment with Joseph Smith, who was indicted in connection with the death of Officer Aaron Cook, but Smith did not show up to court. A bench warrant has been issued for Smith's arrest.
