Tazewell woman forced to evacuate home due to floods

Terin Miller was on her front porch Saturday, spending time with her kids. Soon after, the rain began pouring down and onto her front porch, forcing Miller and her children to evacuate from the house.

"I noticed the water started coming up on the porch and I thought it would go back down," Miller said. "But then it started getting closer to the door. I jumped up and ran inside the house. By the time I came back, it had already reached inside that fast."

The damages only got worse, with water visibly seen on the kitchen floor and the carpet destroyed in the living room.

"Some of the towels raised up on the floor," Miller said. "I guess the water got so high the whole bathtub got muddy."

Even outside, the mud is everywhere, making it difficult to even walk onto the property.

Miller contacted her landlord and is staying with her mother until the damages can be fixed. Until then, she and her family are waiting to return home.
