BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA)  Three people are behind bars after a gun is fired near two Beckley Police officers.

According to the complaint, the incident happened Friday morning on Scott Avenue in Beckley, where Cpl. T. Capehart and Patrolman Christian were investigating a shots fired/ destruction of property complaint. In the course of their investigation, Cpl. Capehart reported witnessing a silver passenger car with muzzle flashes as well as gunpowder smoke coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle less than 30 yards away from his vehicle.

Cpl. Capehart then stopped the vehicle and had the driver, Madison Campbell, the passenger on the rear side, Shebly Armstrong, and the front passenger, Ramon Edwards, exit the vehicle. During a search of the suspects and vehicle, officers discovered multiple guns and gun casings both inside and outside the vehicle.

Due to the location of where the weapon was fired and where the casings were found, the complaint said Edwards was charged with eight counts of wanton endangerment and eight counts of felony conspiracy.

Armstrong and Campbell were both charged with eight counts of felony conspiracy.

Edwards is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
