PINEVILLE, W.Va. (WVVA) An agreement is reached between the Pinnacle mine and leaders in Wyoming County.

According to Prosecutor Mike Cochrane, the company has promised to make the 1.2 million dollar payment by the end of June. If they do not, he said the county will take legal remedies to recover the funds which support essential services throughout the county.

"Pinnacle mining is an important part of the industry. It employs a bunch of our citizens and we want to make sure people here continue with those jobs and continue working."

The missing tax payments were due on April 1, 2018.

Pinnacle mine is owned by Seneca Coal.
