(WVVA): A steady stream of tropical moisture moving into our area, combined with several passing areas of low pressure will keep us soggy at times through this coming weekend. Showers and thunderstorms will be on and off through Friday night. Heavy rain may cause FLOODING issues because of the already dampened soil. Small creeks, streams, and poor drainage areas may create high water hazards through Friday evening, as rainfall amounts (on top of what our area has already received) may be in the 2-4" range.
Please remember, "turn around, don't drown"! If you encounter a flooded roadway, find and alternate route and report the flooding to authorities immediately. More Flood Watches may be expanded across our viewing area today. Remember, during a "flood watch", we are "watching" the situation for the POTENTIAL for flooding due to forecasted rain amounts. If a WARNING is issued, that means flooding is already underway. Seek higher ground, and stay safe!
