    Rain came down at Bowen Field for the better part of an hour on Monday night. When play resumed, the Blue Jays used sharp pitching and timely hitting to overcome the Danville Braves, 6-3.

    For a number of years, tickets for the Bluefield Blue Jays and the Princeton Rays were honored at both stadiums. This allowed fans to watch some Mercer County baseball, even if their hometown team was on the road. That deal, however, is not in place this summer.
