Members of the Great Mount Zion Pentecostal Church in Bluefield, WV today hosted local police officers for a luncheon to mark the congregation's appreciation for the force.
The annual luncheon marked its 8th year this year. The luncheon falls close to police appreciation week, which starts this coming Sunday.
The menu included fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, Mississippi pot roast, and blueberry and peach cobbler. Police officers were impressed with the southern cooking.
Clarence Moore, pastor of the church, remarked that the police department meant a lot to the church, and strove to keep the relationship between the church and the police department strong.
