Raleigh County delegate wins party's nomination

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) A Raleigh County delegate appointed by Gov. Jim Justice defended his seat Tuesday night -- winning the Republican nomination for the 28th Dist.

Del. Jeff Pack won by just one vote in Raleigh County against his Republican challengers Roy Cooper and former Woodrow Wilson High School Principal Ron Cantley.

While Del. Pack narrowly secured the race in Raleigh County, he won by more sizable margins in both Monroe and Summers County.

"I'm overwhelmed. It's an amazing feeling. Thank you for all the people who waved signs, knocked on doors with me, and offered encouraging words. I can't say thank you enough."

Del. Pack was appointed to the 28th Dist. early in the 2018 legislative session after former Del. John O'Neal went on to become one of the Governor's advisers.

The Republican candidate will take on the Democratic winner, Sandy Shaw, in the general election this November.
