Man arrested after high speed chase

Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley says Webster County man is in custody after a high-speed chase and standoff. Fridley says it happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

His deputies were on a traffic stop on Route 19 in the Scarbro area and saw a car race by at more than 100 mph. They finally caught up with him on I-64 near Sandstone Mountain after hearing reports that he was armed.

The man's been identified as Tyler Lawson, 21, of Camden on the Gauley. When he finally stopped, Lawson got out of his car with a gun to his head,  threatening suicide, but he was arrested without incident.
