UPDATE: Gov. Justice adds six to PEIA task force

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has announced his additional appointments to the PEIA task force.

The six additional appointees are:

  1. Beth “Buffy” Hammers, CEO, Marshall Health
  2. Helen Matheny, Director of Collaborative Relations and Initiatives, WVU Health Sciences Center
  3. Lisa M. Simon, Certified Public Accountant, Wheeling
  4. Sarita Beckett, Public Schools Teacher, Raleigh County
  5. Dr. Sherri Young, Medicare Medical Director, Aetna Insurance
  6. Amy Loring, Human Resources Coordinator and Director of Staffing and Employee Relations, Berkeley County Schools

The group will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. in the Governor's Cabinet Conference Room at the Capitol.


West Virginia Governor Jim Justice will be adding six additional women to the PEIA task force.

“After hearing additional input today from the Legislature, I will be amending my Executive Order concerning the formation of the PEIA Task Force to increase the number of members from 23 to 29 and I will be adding six additional women to the group," states Gov. Justice.

The names of the six women appointed to the task force will be announced on Monday.

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has appointed 23 people to a special task force to find a "permanent solution and fix to the health care plan for state employees." 

The group will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. in the Governor's Cabinet Conference Room at the Capitol.
