Fayette Co. fitness center offering free workouts for public employees

All this picketing and protesting can be stressful for everyone involved.

That's why a local fitness center in Fayette County is providing free workouts for all public employees this week.

Brickhouse Cardio Club, located on E. Main St. in Oak Hill offers all sorts of strength and cardio classes, such as zumba, for people of all skill sets.

Owner and fitness instructor Celi Van Dyke says this is just a small way to show support for teachers and service personnel and to help them blow off some steam.

"We're hoping to give the public employees a little bit of stress relief,” Van Dyke. “We know we've got a lot of people out there that are pretty stressed out about situations involving the school, and their insurance, and their future. So, working out is a great way to relieve stress and so what we want to do is offer them a free workout."

Van Dyke says the free workouts run through Saturday and all you need to bring is your public employee I.D. to join.

A full list of class offerings and schedules are listed on Brickhouse Cardio Club's Facebook page.
