Oak Hill Kroger donates groceries to help feed students during strike

OAK HILL, WV (WVVA) -

Even though the teacher's strike is over, classes won't resume until Thursday, which means some children who rely on school meals could be going hungry.

That's why Kroger in Oak Hill is partnering with Coda Mountain Academy to supply the community, specifically students unable to eat school meals, to two free meals this week.

The Oak Hill Kroger donated $500 of food to Coda Mountain Academy, a non-profit summer camp and after-school program, to prepare meals for the kids.

The first meal was held Tuesday night at Fayetteville Christ Fellowship.

Coda Mountain Academy says the $500 grocery donation will go a long way in feeding students.

The next community meal is scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the same location.
