HINTON, WV (WVVA) -

One of the top players in high school basketball in the mountain state, Summers County's Hannah Taylor has the Lady Bobcats poised for another strong postseason run. "Hannah Taylor is the ultimate competitor. She competes at a high level and she knew coming into this season, she was going to have to lead this basketball team," head coach Chad Meador said. "Everybody's like, well the twins are gone, so they won't be as good or whatever, but we're as good as anybody else around here I think," senior guard Hannah Taylor said.

Filling the void left behind by sisters Brittney and Whitney Justice,Taylor knew she would have to be the one to step it up."I'm sure that they think I'm a little bit bossy, but i just like winning and I feel like we needed a leader, so I'm going to try to be a leader," Taylor said.

As a first year head coach, Meador has enjoyed having a player like Taylor to help him transition into his new role. "Anytime you have a player like Hannah Taylor to lead your basketball team, you feel confident, you feel confident that she's going to be able to implement the game plan and bring some of the younger ones up," Meador said.

And leading she's done,Taylor is first on the team in points and blocks but knows all the pressure just doesn't fall on her. "I mean I always know, like Tiffany can score whenever she would like. Erica Merrill can score. All of the starting five, especially coming off of the bench, they can score too. We just want to win and that's all I'm trying to do," Taylor said.

With one of the winningest programs in the state of West Virginia, Taylor wants to leave her last mark on the Lady Bobcats program. "I want this in my last year, I want to actually win a state championship and actually make it past the first and second round and that's the plan this year. That's the plan, is to win the sectional championship, win the regional championship and then eventually win the state championship."
